Alex Meinders
Alex joined the team in May 2021 as Research Technician. Hailing from Springfield, Missouri, Alex received his bachelor鈥檚 and master鈥檚 degrees from Missouri State University, where he studied cottonmouth behavior. Before joining the Sanctuary鈥檚 research team Alex was introduced to Southwest Florida as the sea turtle technician at Florida Panther National Wildlife Refuge.
At Corkscrew Swamp Sanctuary, Alex is responsible for leading long-term monitoring of hydrology and wildlife to help us better understand the effects of regional changes on the Sanctuary鈥檚 ecology. He also serves as a member of the Sanctuary鈥檚 prescribed fire crew, coordinates Corkscrew Swamp's visiting researcher program, and serves as 约炮视频鈥檚 representative to the Southwest Florida Cooperative Invasive Species Management Area (CISMA) Animal Committee.
