Migration is the perfect time to remind ourselves of the wonder of Florida's native bird community. From the year-round residents, to the migratory stop-overs, to the summer breeders, the Sunshine State is home to more than 500 bird species! How many can you spot in one day?
When is the Birdathon?
The 约炮视频 Florida Birdathon will take place on Saturday, April 17, 2021.
What is a Birdathon?
We come together as 约炮视频 Florida staff, board, and members to spot as many species as we can in one, 24-hour period. While in the past we may have birded together in teams, we are asking that participants bird alone or in household groups to follow COVID-19 safety protocols and CDC guidance.
Through generous sponsorships from friends, family, 约炮视频 supporters, we raise essential funds to support 约炮视频 Florida's essential mission to protect birds and the places they need.
How will 约炮视频 Florida staff be birding?
Staff will create a unique bird list from 约炮视频 Florida. From the Florida Keys to the hills of North Florida, from the Center for Birds of Prey to the Corkscrew Swamp Sanctuary, our team will showcase how our favorite natural places and bird spots. In addition to following our progress here and on social media, you can give in honor of a specific staff member's total, or for all of the 约炮视频 team combined.
In 2020, 约炮视频 Florida staff spotted 121 species. How many can we record this year?
How can I participate?
While you are welcome to bird where you feel comfortable, we do urge that participants stay within household groups, pods, or maintain six feet of distance when you are birding.
From 12:00 a.m. through 11:59 p.m. on April 17, all bird observations count towards the Birdathon! Keep track of your observations, and submit them using . The form will be open through April 20.
