
Summer camp at the Bent of the River 约炮视频 Center is just around the corner. We're excited to introduce a new crew of counselors with impressive skill sets in education, ecology, conservation, and, of course, facilitating outdoor fun!
Read on to meet our 2025 crew, including our lead counselor鈥攁 new position for this summer.
Meet Our Lead Counselor
Sarah Maroney is a recent University of Vermont graduate in Global History and Environmental Studies. Since graduating in December of 2024, she has worked as an Education and Outreach intern for both the Winooski Heritage Mill Museum and 约炮视频 Vermont, where she has developed and delivered outdoor education programs!
In college Sarah interned at an organic farm and worked as an entomology lab assistant. Excitingly, Sarah spent time in Patagonia working as a field ecologist.
Meet Our Counselors
Sean Yamanaka is an old friend of the Bent, where he volunteered in 2018 and 2019 helping with our summer camp and performing habitat conservation. He is currently pursuing a combined BA-MA in the Education Program with a specialization in secondary education at UConn in Storrs.
He is in the process of acquiring his Teaching Certificate to teach high school English. He has worked with children of varying ages through volunteering as a tutor for a variety of subjects.
Isabella Drury is currently studying Wildlife and Conservation Biology at the University of New Hampshire, where she has taken courses in ornithology, conservation biology, and wildlife habitats, among many others! Last summer Izzy developed curricula and taught merit badge lessons at the Edmund D. Strang Scout Reservation in Goshen, CT.
Previously, she volunteered in the Conservation Discovery Corps at the Beardsley Zoo where she banded geese, tagged Horseshoe crabs with Project Limulus, conducted freshwater mussel surveys and saltwater marsh restoration.
