are one of six bands of Cahuilla, indigenous people of the Coachella Valley region whose historic range spans multiple Southern California ecosystems, including high and low deserts, coniferous forests, scrublands, and the Salton Sea. The Torres-Martinez Reservation runs up against the Salton Sea, making the Tribe one of several agencies and organizations working toward responsible management of California鈥檚 largest body of water, as well as one of its most vulnerable and critical migratory bird habitats.
This guide was designed in collaboration with the Tribe鈥檚 Natural Resources and Cultural Resources departments, and includes the Cahuilla names for several common birds as well as a few other non-avian migratory species.
Both and versions are available. Have you seen our other Salton Sea pocket field guides? Check out the and versions of these as well.

Size
Our pocket filed guides are designed to print on Letter (8.5x11鈥) size paper.
Printing
When printing, be sure to print two-sided, with short edge binding. Otherwise, you鈥檒l end up with one side that鈥檚 upside down.
Print at 鈥淎ctual Size.鈥 If this, for some reason, does not work, try the 鈥渇it鈥 option.
Folding
The guide should be folded like a typical tri-fold brochure: start with the side that has the images of the birds facing up; fold the right panel in, then fold the left panel on top, so the cover is on the outside.
